Perseverance
You can't tell from the photo, but this is one stubborn crocus.
If you look at the extreme right of the image, the grey there is the side of one of my raised garden beds. Where this flower is growing has bee tilled, raked, pruned and de-bulbed over the course of 3 years. The first two didn't have the raised beds so it was a regular 'grow in rows' veggie garden. Anytime a flower or weed grew I pulled it. And I was not gentle about it. Nor was I particular. If it wasn't in the row (or in the raised bed) it got yanked.
And yet… this little croci has managed, along with a couple other siblings, to come up this year.
Hence the name.
